Drone Service Providers for Your Survey

Describe your project, compare quotes, hire the right partner.

Drones open up unique ways to complete surveying work faster, more affordably, and with a much higher level of detail. Take advantage of state-of-the-art drone technology to survey landscapes or buildings — and reuse the resulting data for further measurements later on.

What your job delivers

Capture Types and Results

3D models, orthophotos and terrain models — which result fits your project.

3D Models

Individual images captured by drone can later be combined into detailed 3D models using specialized software. These models are rich in detail, making it possible to carry out measurements retroactively on a computer. Purpose-built digital surveying tools within the software support precise, accurate work.

Orthophotos and Orthomosaics

Digital drone data can be processed and assembled into highly precise orthomosaic maps. Every pixel carries 2D geo-information (X, Y), delivering accurate measurements such as horizontal distances and area data. This data can be used for precise surveying.

Digital Surface Models (DSMs) and Digital Terrain Models (DTMs)

In DSM and DTM models, every pixel carries 2D information (X, Y) plus the elevation (Z-value) of the highest point at that position. These models can be used, for example, to determine which parts of the terrain would flood if water pooled there, or whether earthworks are needed to level the ground for a planned construction project.

What drone surveying delivers

Benefits of Drone Footage for Surveying

Three reasons surveys are increasingly done from the air.

Cost-Effective

Drones deliver high-resolution imagery and survey data quickly and affordably — for topographic maps, orthomosaics, 3D models, and much more. Use it to improve site assessment, documentation, and progress tracking.

Fast and Flexible

Drones are quick to set up and ready for action. The flight itself takes only a fraction of the time a traditional survey would need, while covering far more ground at once. The captured footage can also be reviewed again later for further analysis.

High Level of Detail

The captured imagery offers an extremely high level of detail, which helps make surveys highly precise. The individual images can also be used to build 3D models, allowing further measurements to be taken later on a computer — without ever needing to revisit the site.

Applications of Drone Surveying and Their Key Benefits

Drones have countless applications, and one relatively young field is drone surveying. It's especially relevant for industry, trades, and construction. It can fully replace conventional surveying techniques, boost surveying efficiency, and significantly cut costs — making drone surveying a more sustainable, environmentally friendly option. Drones are small, highly maneuverable, and can be used in areas where earlier techniques have failed. Drone surveying is also considerably safer: neither surveyors nor construction workers need to climb to dizzying heights to assess a job.

Drone Surveys Are Easy to Repeat

It isn't always possible to capture every detail on-site during the first survey. If uncertainties come up while analyzing the collected data and images, drone surveying offers a decisive advantage: surveys can be repeated easily and without much extra effort, filling in any missing data. That saves time and keeps costs under control.

Applications of Drone Surveying

Drone surveying is most commonly used for buildings and open areas, where it's easy to apply and offers clear advantages over other techniques. It's equally well suited to inventory work at stockpiles, landfills, quarries, and gravel or crushed-stone pits, where it holds decisive advantages over other methods: the 3D volume models it produces are highly precise, and the technique makes stocktaking far easier. It also helps avoid disruptions to ongoing operations — another advantage that prevents unnecessary losses in efficiency. Drone surveying is efficient, straightforward, and completely safe. The drones used capture high-resolution orthophotos and reliably document any damage as well.
