Roof and Facade Inspection with Drones

Photos and videos are the simplest type of drone footage. As with a standard camera, the drone captures individual photos or continuous video — but from a unique aerial perspective that also makes hard-to-reach areas easy to inspect. This gives you a whole new level of overview and detail.

As a complement to standard photos and videos, specialized drones can also capture thermal imaging from the air. Thanks to the drone's superior vantage point, large or hard-to-reach areas can be surveyed faster too. Digital drone-based data can be processed and stitched together into highly precise orthomosaic maps. Every pixel contains 2D geographic information (X, Y) and provides precise measurements, such as horizontal distances and area data. This data can be overlaid onto digital plans to track construction progress, and serves as both a visual communication tool and construction site documentation.

Where inspections once required scaffolding or lifts to be set up before a qualified person could even make the climb, a single drone pilot on the ground is now enough. No costly equipment purchases, no lengthy setup.

Drones are quick to set up and ready to fly. The flight itself takes only a fraction of the time normally needed for a roof or facade inspection, while covering far more ground at once. The footage can also be used for further review at a later stage.
