SORA 2.5 is now available in wingman 🥳
We are pleased to announce that all wingman subscribers (Specific Basic and Plus) can now create SORAs in accordance with EASA’s Edition 2.5.
This enhancement marks a significant step toward faster, more efficient, and more streamlined risk assessments and authorization processes for UAS operations in the Specific Category.
New functions
SORA 2.5 on wingman includes the following main functions:
- The overall SORA process steps have been adjusted to the new order.
- Ground Risk for your uploaded flight plan is from now on calculated based on a new quantitative model, considering max. population density and UA characteristics such as max. speed and dimension.
- Ground Risk Mitigations M1A, M1B, M1C and M2 have been implemented and can be declared and applied to your iGRC.
- Several automation rules have been implemented to support you in declaring the right mitigations.
- The size of the Adjacent Area can now be calculated automatically and is visualised on the map.
- wingman calculates and displays the suggested level of containment robustness for your operation, taking into account drone size, your drone’s maximum speed, the average population density and your SAIL level.
- Operational Safety Objectives have been adjusted to the reduced quantity and the relevant, updated requirements for your operation are displayed.
- With mitigations, OSOs, TMPR and containment requirements wingman now provides direct references to relevant chapters in the Operation Manual (if a structure as recommended by EASA is used).
- All changes are reflected in the digital SORA report that can be exported, printed or shared with third parties via a link.
What happens with SORA 2.0?
For the next six months, you will still be able to create SORAs based on Edition 2.0, and all legacy SORAs will remain unchanged. However, we encourage you to try the new edition, which we will continue to refine in order to provide an even better user experience.”
