AUTOMATIC CALCULATION OF THE GROUND RISK BUFFER

As already mentioned under ground and air risk analysis, it is also necessary to specify the ground risk buffer when defining the flight characteristics. Calculating this can take some time with a manual approach – but wingman can help here too. With wingman you can automatically calculate the required value in 3 different ways. The simplest but in most cases least advantageous method is the 1:1 rule, which uses the sum of maximum flight altitude and contingency area. The ballistic method, which also takes into account the flight speed and the behavior in the event of a crash, usually produces more accurate and better results. Simply select “Calculate automatically” with the ballistic method and follow the instructions. Alternatively, there is also the option of calculating the buffer for a drone with a parachute.
